On 5-8 March, the Minister of the Economy and Innovation, Aušrinė Armonaitė, will pay a working visit to New York, where she will open the North American-Lithuanian Business Forum ("NAALBF"). It will bring together nearly 300 representatives of Lithuanian and US companies. The Minister will also meet with potential US investors to discuss opportunities to expand their operations in Lithuania.

"The North America-Lithuania Business Forum, which has been organised for several years now, is becoming a very important step in developing and deepening mutual relations. So this year we hope to open new opportunities for cooperation with reliable partners. The US is one of our most important trading partners and the leading country in terms of foreign investment, so we are consistently discussing potential investments and opportunities for expanding in Lithuania," said the Minister of the Economy and Innovation A. Armonaitė.

A. Armonaitė will meet with the CEOs of EPAM systems, IBM and CITCO. She will also participate in the Transatlantic Venture Talks, a discussion on venture capital networking between Lithuanian and US funds, and meet with the Lithuanian community in New York and members of Global Lithuanian Leaders.

Last year, trade between Lithuania and the US reached EUR 4.76 billion, making the US the fourth largest trading partner of Lithuania. Lithuanian exports amounted to EUR 1.88 billion and imports to EUR 2.87 billion. The US is considered a priority market for Lithuania's exports and innovation, attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), tourism, as well as agricultural and food products.
