A. Armonaitė presents Lithuanian scientific and clinical research areas at Dexcom

Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė met with executives of Dexcom, a world-class life sciences company, in San Diego (USA) and presented Lithuania's capabilities in scientific and clinical research.

"We invited Dexcom to expand its investments in Lithuania, which could be related to research and experimental development and clinical trials. Lithuania is particularly advanced in terms of infrastructure for clinical trials and we have highly qualified specialists. This is also reflected in the latest IMD Talent Ranking, where Lithuania is ranked 23 out of 64 countries," said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of the Economy and Innovation.

During the meeting, the Minister presented Lithuania's progress in research and experimental development to Dexcom executives. Our country has 4 universities specialising in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. There are 10 research valleys, where scientific and business cooperation is successfully developing, and 5 clinical hospitals, where clinical trials can be professionally conducted. There are also 9 research institutes in the Santaka Valley in Kaunas, offering advanced services in medical technology, nanotechnology and robotics.

Dexcom has established a business services centre in Vilnius, which currently employs around 400 highly skilled professionals. The company develops and distributes diabetes monitoring and control devices worldwide.
