During her visit to the US, Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė met with representatives of Anduril, a manufacturer of advanced defence technologies. The Minister presented the country's plans to strengthen the defence sector and the favourable conditions for setting up defence companies in Lithuania. Since last year, defence companies have been able to set up in free economic zones.
"The growth of the defence sector is one of our priorities. We are developing our defence industry and inviting companies from NATO countries to expand in Lithuania. We focus on companies that develop advanced defence technologies, such as Anduril. Today, more than 80 companies develop defence products in Lithuania, which are also exported to NATO countries, and there is a growing number of innovative start-ups in the defence sector," said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of the Economy and Innovation.
Last year, representatives of Anduril visited Vilnius and participated in the Baltic Miltech Summit 2023 event.
